Jammu, June 18: A delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by its Chairman Vikrant Kuthiala met Ajay Gupta, Member Technical JKSERC in Jammu. Welcoming the reactivation of J&K State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Kuthiala appreciated the appointment of L.D. Jha (IAS) as the Chairman, Ajay Gupta, Member (Technical) and M . R. Andrabi, Member (Finance). Kuthiala suggested JKSERC to initiate action on the following lines informing the Consumers at large regarding the overall role of JKSERC. , including the Consumers right to ask for clarifications, file review petitions in case of disputes with Power Development Department etc. Educating the Public at large about the roles and responsibilities of various Stakeholders i.e Power Development Department, Consumers and JKSERC under the Electricity Act. He also suggested to Initiate steps for strengthening of Distribution System in terms of up-gradation of Conductors, creation of additional distribution substations, enhancement in capacity of H.T Substations of 220 KV, 132KV, 33KV & 11KV Level. He also suggested that suitable studies be carried out for identification of reasons for demand surge. He suggested that Merit Order Curtailment be implemented. wherein Feeders with highest line losses are put to maximum curtailment and those Feeders, where line losses are minimal do not face any curtailment. Kuthiala also took up the issue of Industrial Tariff- Applicability of hotels /Hospitality sector. |
