`No demarcation of land carried out during inspection' | RO Lamberi shields Forest land grabber | | AB Sharma Early Times Report Rajouri, June 26: The forest department has come to the rescue of a lady panch involved in grabbing 200 kannals of forest land. Sources said as soon as the news about the land grab was published, a team led by DFO Nowshera was sent to have an on the spot assessment of the situation. Reports said, on reaching the spot, the Range Officer Lamberi tried to shield the lady panch and asked her to get some revenue document showing possession of land so that they can report to the senior to hush up the matter. "Shockingly, the team led by Range Officer Lamberi didn't carry out the process of demarcation to find out the fact of the land grabbed by lady panch. One more thing which has been observed that most of the Ranger Officers posted in Rajouri district are locals who used their position and leading this menace of" they said. When Early Times contacted the Ranger officer Lamberi Ved Parkash said that he can't give any comment on this issued and asked to talk to his senior officer including commissioner secretary, Chief Conservator of Forests. The locals demanded inquiry into the matter and appealed to the senior officers to take action against Ranger Officers and others who are involved in the land grabbing. |
