Salaries of 10 teaching staff kept withheld for commotion, enquiry initiated

KISHTWAR, July 10: Kishtwar administration today issued an order regarding withholding of salaries of 10 government employees of Education Department Kishtwar for creating ruckus and serious law and order problem in Kishtwar.
The order issued by administration reads that on June 29 last,Teachers/ Masters/ Lecturers (both male and female) of GHSS (Boys) Kishtwar and GHSS (Girls) led by Prehlad Bhagat Principal, GHSS (Boys) Kishtwar and Tanveer Ahmed Malik Teacher, City Girls Middle School, Kishtwar held a strong protest / demonstration at DC Office Kishtwar.
The protest was against the order issued by DC Kishtwar on June 17 last for smooth working and functioning of government schools.
The said order was already modified wherein it was directed to mandatorily conduct the monthly Parents Teachers meeting in every school and the school authorities shall keep all proceedings of PTMs including the issues raised by the parents along with photographs and videography and shall share the photographs / videos to this office as well as in the Office of Chief Education Officer, Kishtwar without fail.
The order issued was made applicable for schools falling under Red Zone in which frequent complaints about absenteeism of staff as well as closure of schools is reported.
However, few of the teachers annoyed by the order instigated some of their colleagues and staged a massive procession against the administration.
On the day of protest, these teachers forcefully barged inside the main entrance gate of DC Office and subsequently entered inside the premises of DC Office Complex, Kishtwar, in which some teachers delivered hate speeches while throwing all the service conduct rules in winds openly.
It was reported that the said Principal, lecturer, masters and teachers forcibly compelled other teaching staff to participate in the protest at large and constrained the school authorities to close down the schools due to which a lot of inconvenience was faced by the students in absence of their teachers.
"These employees tried their level best to give communal flare/vent to the matter and created serious law and order problems for the district administration and as such heavy deployment of police personnel was made in order to avert any untoward incident," order further reads.
Acting tough against the erring officer/officials of Education Department, Kishtwar, DC Kishtwar withheld the salaries of Prehlad Bhagat Principal, Govt HSS Boys Kishtwar, Ramesh Kumar, Lecturer GHSS Boys Kishtwar, Pardeep Koul, Master working in GHSS (Boys) Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed Butt, Master Govt Middle School Kuchhan, Dev Raj Teacher HS Shaana Thakrie, Tanveer Ahmed Maik Teacher City Middle School (Girls) Kishtwar, Mohd Hafiz Teacher P/S Dassa, Nagseni Education Zone, Rajesh Parihar, UPS Filler Thakrie, Reffaz Malik Teacher GHS Dambar, Mushraff Bashir ReT GMS Hasti, Kishtwar till further order.
Further, Mohd Hanief Malik, Additional District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar has been appointed as an Enquiry Officer who shall conduct discreet enquiry into the matter and furnish the report to the office of DDC within a period of 15 days positively along with the recommendations for initiating disciplinary action against above noted erring teaching staff.
