Srinagar, July 16: A record two lakh pilgrims paid obeisance in the first 16 days of annual pilgrimage, which commenced from July 1, from both shortest Baltal and traditional Pahalgam tracks to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas. Meanwhile, 11,538 yatries have paid obeisance on Tuesday at the holy cave shrine, a yatra official said this evening. He said on the sixteenth day of the pilgrimage, 11,538 pilgrims, including women, sadhus and sadhives, paid obeisance at the cave shrine since early this morning. He said so far a record 2,05,083 lakh pilgrims had darshan of the self made Ice-Shivlingam at the cave shrine, where the yatra will conclude on August 15. Majority pilgrims had returned to their homes while a good number of yatries are extending their stay to visit tourist destinations in the valley.
