BILLAWAR, July 26: The Government Degree College, Billawar today organized a plantation drive in its campus to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. The event started with planting of sapling by the Principal of the college Prof (Dr) Jugal Kishore Sharma. On the occasion, all faculty members and students of the college participated with great enthusiasm. All staff and NSS volunteers planted varieties of plants and saplings, which were provided by the Forest Department, Billawar. Later, the Principal of the college threw light on the importance of plantation to reduce the effects of global warming. The entire event was organized by Cultural Committee of the college under the supervision of Convener Prof Rajni Kumari. |
