| Terror-funding case: NIA summons Kashmir legislator Engineer Rashid | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 4: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday summoned Kashmiri independent legislator Sheikh Abdul Rashid alias Engineer Rashid in connection with a terror-funding.
Independent MLA from Langate was first grilled by the investigating agency in September 2017. The MLA at the time had termed the probe "politically motivated".
In 2017, the sources had said that the MLA was being probed for "possible links" with businessman Zahoor Watali, who had been arrested by NIA in the terror-funding case. The businessman is being probed for his alleged terror links with banned Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and its chief Hafiz Sayed, by both the Enforcement Directorate and the NIA.
In the latest development, the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday attached Zahoor Watali's assets worth Rs 1.73 crore under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. |
