Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 4: 6 day workshop on Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) began today at GCW Pardae college. MOOCs are free online courses for everyone to enroll. MOOCs provide an affordable and flexible ways to learn new skills and deliver quality educational experiences. The objective of the workshop is to train the faculty to design, develop, deliver, transact e-content of their courses and motivate the students to use these free online courses .Faculty members of different colleges across the state participated in the workshop. The workshop is also being attended by Sanjeev Rana, Deputy Secretary Higher Education Dept. and Dr. Zeba Suleman, Under Secretary, Higher Education Department. The workshop was inaugurated by Secretary to Government , Higher Education, Talat Parvez Rohella. The workshop started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Resource persons for the day, Prof. K Srinivas Head ICT and Project Management Unit, chairman eLearning cell NIEPA, New Delhi and Prof. R C Sharma, Regional Director, IGNOU, New Delhi, Principal Parade College Dr. Hemla Aggarwal and other dignitaries. The workshop was coordinated by Prof. J.N.Walia and Prof. Gaurav Sehgal from Central University Jammu. |
