Abrogation of Article 370 got support from PoJK | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 9: Following the landmark decision of the Narendra Modi Government that ended 69-year-old Jammu & Kashmir's separate status by abolishing "Temporary" Article 370 and "illegal" Article 35A of the Indian constitution, a prominent activist from Pakistan-occupied-Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) Senge H Sering has urged the Indian government to "provide representation in the parliament for Gilgit-Baltistan". Sering has asserted that "providing Gilgit-Baltistan representation in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will strengthen India's claim over the territory which is currently in PoJK". According to a report, "he also praised the government's move of scrapping Article 370 and making Ladakh a separate Union Territory". Not just this, Sering also said that "Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who wanted to create a 'new Pakistan', should learn from Indian Home Minister Amit Shah". It bears recalling that during the just-concluded parliament's discussion over the decision to bifurcate J&K into two Union Territories (UTs) - UT of Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Ladakh -- and revoke the state's special status, HM Amit Shah had said: "we are ready to give our lives for it." |
