JAMMU, Aug 20: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) in collaboration with social & culture organization today started weeklong plantation drive of the rainy season to help promote ecological balance and enrich the environment at Muthi Jammu. This plantation drive will be carried out through out the length & breadth of Jammu province, by the NMC activists, who have a tentative target of 2000 plants of different varieties & species for Tehsil Headquarters especially. At Muthi Jammu, NMC President Subash Shastri, prominent social activist Ex-DC. B.S.Jamwal & Bawa Bhair Dev Sathan Trust General Secy. Romesh Sharma and other heads of Social & Cultural & Sports organization planted, Banyan Peepa, Amla, Bilwa, Neem etc. Speaking on the occasion, speakers threw light on the importance of plantation at the apparent current phase of prevailing deforestation & forest robbed areas. Among others who were present on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Surinder Kumar, Shiv Ram Sharma, Darshan Bawa, Sardhri Lal, Sudesh Bhagat and others. |
