| RCJ organizes lecture on eye donation | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 8: The Rotary Club Jammu under the president ship of Rtn Dr. Anil K Amla organized eye donation awareness lecture in the premises of Sachdeva Netralaya Jammu. The project Director of the project was Rtn Sunil Kumar Sawhney. On the eve on International Eye Donation Awareness Week the Rotary Club of Jammu organised a lecture on the subject. Prominent and senior most Ophthalmologist Dr. Subhash Gupta and former Professor and Principal of Prestigious Government medical College Jammu was the chief Guest on the occasion. While delivering lecture on this special day Doctor Subhash Gupta shared his experiences with the gathering and regarding eye donation and request all the Jammunities to come forward for the donating their eyes after death as Eye Bank has been established in GMC Jammu. Earlier no eye bank was available in Jammu. He appreciated the efforts of the RC Jammu in facilitating the cornea transplantation of more than 30 cornea blind patients. He apprised the gathering that earlier it was not possible due to lack of communications and non availability of facilities required for this process. Rtn Dr. Gaurav Vaid , Rtn Dr. Abhishek Sachdeva and Rtn Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva also shared their experiences in the field. |
