Murrah village sans bridge, proper roads, residents express resentment | | | M S NAZKI

SURANKOTE, Sept 8: Even as the basic facilities including "Sadak, Bijli aur Pani" remained the war cry for politicians cutting across party lines so far during their election campaigns, the village of Murrah in Surankote area of Poonch district is still lacking the basic facilities, thus forcing the villagers to face hardships. Murrah village of Tehsil headquarter Surankote of Poonch district is located on the left side of Nallah Dui Chang. It comprises of villages like Murrah, Doofali, Gujar and Bakerwal Basti with almost hundred households residing in these hamlets. Khadam Hussein, a local, said that the successive regimes from past several decades have failed to ensure proper roads and other facilities to them, adding that "Murrah hamlet sans everything including bridge and proper road connectivity," he said. Due to non availability of proper road connectivity, people are suffering a lot, he said, adding that they demand a motorable bridge at Murrah over nallah Duichang between Hill Kaka. Meanwhile, the locals appealed the Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter and ensure proper roads in their hamlet. |
