Jammu, Sept 19: Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER in collaboration with Model Institute of Engineering and Technology organised an 'I-Survive' Adventure Camp at Patnitop for its students. The objective of which was to provide a wholesome outdoor exposure, develop team spirit, cultivate essential survival skills among the learners under the most difficult and tough situations, and appreciate their environment and natural surroundings. The 'I-Survive' camp is equipped with most modern tents and basic amenities in the heart of nature giving the participants a unique outdoor experience. The camp is unique in itself as the expert trainers teach Punctuality, Sincerity, Responsibility, Co-ordination, Co-operation, Honesty and Leadership. A total of 56 students along with four faculty members attended the two- day camp. The camp was packed with fun filled adventure activities which included Free Fall Jump, Commando Wrapping, Burma Bridge, Spider Web, Valley Bridge Rope Crossing, Nuptial Knot, Team building exercises like Treasure hunt and Trekking at the height of 10000 feet. All the Children enthusiastically participated in the activities. The camp came to an end with a bonfire in the evening wherein they show cased their creative talents. The camp was flagged off from MIER campus by Dr. Adit Gupta, Director MIER, Rupa Gupta Joint Director and Pramod Srivastava, Principal Model Academy. Speaking on the occasion the Director said that these programmes provide a stimulating combination of science, adventure and teamwork by the students. |
