Nat Manch, JKBS demand holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh's birthday | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 22: Nat Manch and Jammu Kashmir Brahman Sabha (JKBS) has demanded declaration of holiday on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh. Addressing media persons, President of Nat Manch, Tarun Sharma said that Maharaja Hari Singh as the most progressive ruler of princely India. "It was ironical that July 13 was being observed as a state holiday even under central rule but September 23rd was ignored thus disregarding the monumental contributions of the Maharaja who gave millions of nationalist people of the state the greatest satisfaction of calling themselves as proud Indians", he said, adding that if Sheikh Abdullah's birthday could be observed as state holiday, it was sheer profanity to deny the same on Maharaja birthday who took the historic decision of acceding J&K to the Union of India by executing the Instrument of accession. |
