DDC sets Sept 30 as deadline for settling pending cases

Rajouri, Sept 25: District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today convened a meeting of Collectors to review the status of land acquisition cases for various road and other development projects.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Ram Krishan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohd Ashraf, Assistant Commissioner Defence, Ramkesh Sharma, Executive Engineers PWD, PHE and PMGSY, AEE I&FC, Rajnesh Gupta, Tehsildars and other officials of the Forest Department.
The meeting was informed that there are a total of 63 land acquisition cases pertaining to BRO and other agencies. Similarly, 20 land acquisition cases pertaining to PWD and PMGSY and 23 land acquisition of Irrigation and Flood control are pending. Some of the major pending cases included widening of BGSBU Road, Badala Mang Bridge and 120 meters bridge adjacent to Abdullah bridge.
The ADC Nowshera informed that there is only a single case of land acquisition pending for disposal while the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote informed that there are 4 pending cases of land acquisition in Kalakote.
The DDC sought case wise detail of land acquisition cases of roads and other development projects and asked the concerned officers to resolve the bottlenecks and issue final awards at the earliest and send the cases to his office for further action.
During the deliberations, it has been revealed that majority of the cases lying pending pertained to BRO while other pending cases are related to different departments like PWD, PMGSY, Irrigation, PHE. The DDC set a deadline of September 30 for disposal of all the land related cases by the concerned departments.
