| Awareness programme on POCSO Act held | | |

UDHAMPUR, Sept 25: On the direction of Director Information & Public Relations, District Information Center Udhampur in collaboration with Social Welfare Department today organized an awareness programme on Protection of Children from Sexual Violence (POCSO) Act 2018 at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Udhampur.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, was the chief guest while IAS Probationer Faz-Lul Haseeb was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, ADDC said that the objective of organizing such programmes is to make every child aware about his rights guaranteed under different laws. They were also educated about the ways to fight any kind of physical, sexual, emotional or psychological abuse. In this connection, Juvenile Justice Board member Yasmin gave a detailed Power Point Presentation and made the students aware about the POCSO Act. Earlier, District Information Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia briefed about the purpose of organizing this awareness programme.
Protection Officers IC& NIC Neetu Sharma and Jyoti Pathania also threw light on the Act and its features. Besides, students of the school also shared their views on the topic. Principal of the host school, Neeru Sharma presented vote of thanks. |
