Detained Kashmiri leaders enjoying five-star facilities at public expense: Harsh
11/7/2019 9:48:17 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 7: Questioning the govt's move of providing five-star facilities to detained Kashmir leaders in top Srinagar hotels at public expense, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP & former Education Minister described the step as an organized loot of tax payer's money. He said that the Govt. had caused the detention of the said leaders on August 5 on the grounds of threat to peace and security of the State and the Nation. But surprisingly they were accommodated in Posh Kashmir hotels fully equipped with all luxuries rather than confining them in jails or in their homes as was done in the case of Jammu based political detenues, pointed Harsh. What kind of detention was it? questioned Singh adding that rather than curtailing the liberties of the said Kashmir leaders, they were kept as State Guests in world famous Centaur Hotel facing the picturesque Dal Lake with all comforts and luxuries made available to them.
The sprawling lawns of the hotel spread over hundreds of acres provided them best place for morning and evening walks with TDC ensuring their comfortable stay, said Singh. He revealed that a Union Minister had also made a statement in the media about the facilities provided to the so called detenues and had claimed that even Bollywood and Hollywood films were being screened for their entertainment depending upon the choice of respective leaders. Amused over the unperceived and unexplained generosity shown to the said detained leaders, Singh said that it was not only plunder of State scarce resources but had further exposed the duplicitous character of the ruling brigade. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today. While the BJP was claiming all over of having sternly dealt with Kashmir leadership and having subjected them to the rigours of law for their anti-national utterances, the facts spoke otherwise.
