| CII supports Union Government's decision on opting out of RCEP | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 7: Sameer Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, Jakson Engineers Ltd extended his support to the Government's decision to opt out of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and commend Prime Minister Modi on his bold decision for keeping the national interest paramount.
He said that Indian industry has earlier expressed its concerns regarding unsustainable trade balance with China, which could have got further exacerbated if the deal had gone through without India's interests being addressed adequately. We are happy that the Government has taken these into account. It is indeed unfortunate that India's legitimate concerns were not sufficiently understood by the RCEP negotiators, necessitating this step. With our good bilateral relations, we are sure that favorable outcomes will be ensured for trade and investment in this dynamic region going forward." |
