Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 11: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has extended greetings to people on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
APSCC leaders, Principal Naranjan Singh, Ajeet Singh Mastana, Sant singh, Dr Jaipal Singh Bali and others have wished and prayed this festive occasion of Gurpurab brings about peace and happiness in the Indian subcontinent.
In a statement, APSCC chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina said that this year Gurpurab celebrations are historic since it coincides with the opening of historic Kartarpur corridor. Raina said that this move would help the Sikhs of India to visit Dera Baba Nanak Gurdwara located in Pakistan on regular basis.
"For the past 72 years the Sikhs of India were yearning for the opening of Kartarpur corridor. The opening of this corridor would lead to a situation where more & more Sikhs can visit the places in Pakistan which are of religious importance," said Raina.
The APSCC chairman exuded hope and confidence that Kartarpur corridor would lead to strong bonds between India and Pakistan, and bring the two neighbours close to one another. He said that the everlasting peace in the world is possible only when people, especially those in power follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Raina said that minorities living in India and Pakistan have very significant role in the development and overall progress of the two nations. He said that Government of India and Government of Pakistan should protect the rights and interests of minorities in their respective countries.
