Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 12: Justice Sanjeev Kumar of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir today visited Observation Home, Bal Ashram and Nari Niketan at RS Pura. Justice Kumar was accompanied by RK Wattal Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jammu (Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jammu), Mir Tariq Director General, Women and Child Development, J&K, Rajni Bhagat, Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board, Jammu, Sheema Nabi, SDPO RS Pura, Ajay Sailan, DSWO, Jammu, Members of JJB, Jammu and other officials there. During the visit, Justice Kumar directed the officials to conduct regular health check-ups of juveniles and provide proper nutrition, skill developments activities and proper counseling to the inmates. He also interacted with the inmates and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. He directed the concerned authorities to provide sports and other physical activities at the observation home, so that juveniles will not feel that they are detained in a jail like atmosphere. He also visited the Nari-Niketan and Bal Ashram and interacted with the inmates at these centres. Later in the afternoon, Justice Sanjeev Kumar visited Central Jail at Kot Bhalwal, Jammu where he was received by the Superintendent Central Jail, Jammu Dinesh Sharma and was presented with a Guard of Honour. Justice Kumar had a thorough visit of the premises and interacted with the prison inmates. He planted saplings in the premises in order to give boost to green environment in the jail. |
