SAD(B) appeals Lt Governor to consider their demands
11/13/2019 9:30:27 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 13: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) Jammu today appealed Lt. Governor GC Murmu to consider the long pending demands of the Sikh community.
A meeting of SAD was held under the chairmanship of Sardar Mohander Singh Jathedar Party President to discuss the issues related to Sikh community.
It was voiced with concern that the party has been raising voice since long but Govt. has never bothered to look into the issues confronting the community due to the apathy of Govt. both at centre and state levels, they said, adding, now since the political senior has changed and we once again raise the voice of the community regarding burning issues related to well and highly qualified youth for employment and other related issues. It is fact that parliamentary committee of home affairs GOI has recommended reservation of seats in professional college of the country for students of POKJ refugees so that they can complete and continue their studies.
Although the reservation for the other community youths has been recently announced by GOI Sikh Community feels that injustice is being done with them even though they are living under similar harsh condition like other community, they said, adding, "One other instance is that an SRO - 425 dated 17.10.2017 has been issued by State Govt. where in seats have been kept reserved for non - migrant Kashmiri Pandits under PM employment package, but sikh community living in Kashmir valley was completely ignored which is glaring example of injustice and discrimination.
They appealed Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir U/T to personally look into these affairs and set right the wrong doings committed by the political establishments for their vested interests. Sikh community is a secular patriotic community and has kept the secular fabric intact at all costs during the turmoil in state and they preferred to stay back in valley to keep tricolour flag of India very high after paying sacrifices of about 200 souls.
Among other who attended the meeting include Adv. Surinder Singh, S. Suchwant Singh, S. Roshan Singh, S. Manjit Singh, S. Sukhdev Singh, Brig. Surinder Singh, S. Kulwant and others.
