Kolkata Film Festival screens 'Lihaaf' | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 14: Rahat Kazmi's movie 'Lihaaf', which has already won hearts of people round the globe, was selected for screening in 25th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) in competition round. Organized by West Bengal Film Centre and founded in 1995, KIFF is the second oldest international film festival in India. The organization is recognized by International Federation of Film Producers' Association (FIAPF-Paris), an international authority of film festivals. KIFF would be inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the presence of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Mahesh Bhatt, Rakhee Gulzar, Kumar Shahani among others at Netaji Indoor Stadium on November 8. This year, the festival, which will continue till tomorrow, has received approximately 2,500 entries from 76 countries which includes 214 feature films, 152 short films and documentaries for competition and non-competition rounds. Directed by Rahat Kazmi, the film is produced by Tariq Khan, Zeba Sajid, Namita Lal, Ashish Wagh, Umesh Shukla and co-produced by Oscar winner Marc Baschet. The film features Tannishtha Chatterjee, Sonal Sehgal and Anushka Sen in the lead roles while Shoib Nikash Shah and Mir Sarwar would be seen in parallel lead roles. The film also showcases the director and the producers in special appearances while Naresh Kamath has given soul to the music. |
