Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 14: Amid reports that the Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu will have a council of advisors, some of the Kashmiri politicians who were not detained after the abrogation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir are dreaming of being inducted in such councils.
Sources said atleast half a dozen politicians from Kashmir, one former leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, a "failed neta", and one having strained relations with the Congress are among those hopeful of being chosen as advisor.
The Kashmiri politician who has been telling his workers that he will be among the advisors was ousted from the Peoples Democratic Party following charges of rebellion against the party.
One former bureaucrat from Nishat often seen as "failed neta" is also among such dreamers.
Sources said one of the Congress leaders from north Kashmir who was recently served a show cause notice for his alleged anti-party activities is among the hopefuls of being chosen in the council of advisors.
Apart from these politicians two of the leaders from the BJP, both of whom hail from Srinagar, are also looking ahead to be in the council of advisors.
It was reliably learnt most of leaders are deliberately putting such rumors in public domain to show their "good connections" in the corridors of power in the national capital.
A senior official while talking to the Early Times downplayed the matter. "If anyone has to be inducted, it will be made public. But as of now there seem to be no such plans," the official added.
Interestingly a month ago many of the leaders in Kashmir were dreaming of being made the Lieutenant Governor. But after GC Murmu was sworn in, they now dream of becoming his advisor.
