| Illicit liquor, raw material destroyed | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Nov 14: Excise Department destroyed about 70 litres of illicit liquor and 2700 Kgs of Lahan (raw materail) during different raids carried out to arrest the menace of illicit distillation and sale of liquor in Excise Range Kathua.
On the directions of the Excise Commissioner M. Raju and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu S. Amarjeet Singh, a joint team of Excise Range Kathua and Enforcement Wing Jammu comprising of E.T.O Mohd Rafie Naik, Inspectors Excise Arun Kumar, Razi Ahmad, Sushil Khajuria, Aman Sharma, SI Amit Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Karamat Ali and Excise Guards Rajinder Singh and Hans Raj raided the Ghatti, Budhi, Sonthali and Kangdyal areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process about 70 litres of illicit liquor and 2700 Kgs of Lahan of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health was recovered by the raiding team from state land and later destroyed on spot. |
