JKPDD delivers electricity bill to consumers after three months in valley

Srinagar, Nov 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (JKPDD) after the gap of three months has started delivering monthly electricity bills to the consumers across the places in the valley.
After August 5, the day centre abrogated the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcate the region into separate Union Territories, the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development could not deliver monthly electricity bills to its consumers for over three months.
However, from over last more than one monthly electricity bills are being handed over to the consumers. Meanwhile, consumers are seen rushing to Jammu and Kashmir Bank to pay the bills in absence of internet in the valley.
"I could not receive my monthly bills of electricity of the month of July, August, September and October amid the uncertainty prevailing in the valley", said Imran, resident of Sonwara.
He added I went to power department to confirm what the really matter is and they told us that they will deliver the bills in coming days. So, finally we got it today. We have to pay it as we have used the electricity to the fullest.
Meanwhile few consumers complain that that the monthly electricity bill that they have received are more than expected and demand administration to overlook into it.
"I have been charged electricity of bill of over 8,000 for over three months. I don't know how come that they have put forward that amount of bill", said Shakeela, a resident of Raj Bagh.
While as consumers complained that in absence of internet connection, people have to stay in huge queue at Jammu and Kashmir Bank.
"With no internet connection being available, it takes hours of time to pay the bills at Jammu and Kashmir Banks. Had there been internet connection things would have been sorted out easily", said Aadil Malik, a resident from Rainawari.
Meanwhile on official in Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department said that yes it took time to deliver bills to consumers all this happened due to uncertainty which was prevailing here in the valley.
He added, "Few employees of JKPDD and lineman had gone on to strike as there were apprehension about power development going private, which has been sorted out by the department"
"The consumers have to pay the bill that has been charged and they have been charged with accurate amount. If consumers failed to pay the bill on time than they have to pay plenty", official added.
