Sarita appreciated J&K Team for bringing laurels

Jammu, Nov 23: A felicitation programme was organized at SRML School for the children who excelled in recently held International Anjali Festival at Orissa. Commissioner/Secretary School Education Sarita Chauhan was the chief Guest during the occasion. It needs mention that Children from J&K bagged third position in Folk Dance and Special Jury Award in Patriotic song competitions. Besides one of the child Rahul was also conferred with Special Jury award and has been offered to serve as Guest Faculty in Art Academy in the field of Painting.
The programme was organized through Samagra Shiksha, Department of School Education. During the onset, children showcased their performances before the audience in Sangeet Hall of SRML School which were appreciated by everyone. Later, Commissioner/Secretary Sarita Chauhan in her remarks congratulated the whole team of J&K who brought laurels for J&K with their outstanding results. She apprised that such achievements are true indicators of our accomplishment towards Inclusive Education. Every child has the right to not only to acquire formal education but to be involved in other extra-curricular activities as per Right to Education Act, she added. Ms. Sarita further told that Integrated Scheme of Inclusive Education under Samagra Shiksha aims to look at education of all children including children with Special Needs (CwSN) in a continuum from pre nursery to class XII.
Later, Dr. Arun Manhas, State Project Director-Samagra Shiksha who was also present during the program appreciated the team for such remarkable performances at international platform. He informed the house in general that various Resource Rooms have been established in all the districts of J&K to provide educational and medical support to Children with Special Needs
The names of the children who were part of the team are: Rahul Kumar, Paras Jalotra, Rohit Bhagat, Sakshi Choudhary, Manvi Sharma, Mohinder Singh, Prince Kounal Shubam Bhaskar, Vaniket, Zahid Manzoor, Shahid Ayoob and Basit Raina At the conclusion, School bags were provided to the winner team as a token of reward by Commissioner/Secretary. Among others who were present during the programme were Chief Education Officer, Jammu-Mr Kulbir Singh, Field Officer-Samagra Shiksha Mr. Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmed and State Coordinator Inclusive Education-Dr. Ravinder Jangral. Besides, Principal of SRML, Senior Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha and Resource Persons/Special Education Teachers also graced the occasion.
