| Farmers stage protest, demand compensation | | |

Samba, Dec 2: The farmers of the border area Ramgarh today staged protest demonstration and were demanding fair compensation and loan waiver for the paddy crop, destroyed in rains.
The protest demonstration was led by Prem Pal and General Secretary of Border Development Association Mohan Singh Bhatti.
During this time, Prem Pal, Mohan Singh Bhatti, Balbir Singh Jagir Singh, Sewa Singh, Mohinder Singh, Gurcharan Singh, while talking to Patrakar said that 70 percent crop of the farmers has been damaged due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms.
The farmers had said that earlier in the summer, the wheat crop has damaged due to fire but government had not provided any compensation.
The farmers have demanded from the Lieutenant Governor to direct the officers to ascertain the damages and provide compesantion. |
