Surgery delayed at DH to run Pvt practice | | | Ashwani Sharma Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Dec 6: In a starling exposure it has come to fore that after delaying an immediate surgery on the pretext of non-availability of anaesthesia specialist, an ortho doctor at government's district hospital in Udhampur recommended the patient for operation at a private nursing home where he was charged approximately @ 40k Surprisingly, none at the private nursing home, including the ortho surgeon helped the poor patient having tibia related ailment to avail the benefit of Ayushman Bharat scheme-- sources informed Moreover, the very next day the patient was again admitted back in the district hospital. As the cat came out of the bag and the issue reached higher authorities a probe was started at a very high level the smell of which reached to the ortho surgeon and in a hush-hush manner the patient was discharged from the hospital to douse the spark at the initial stage itself , sources maintained However, there is lot of resentment among the commoners in the town who have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor G.C Murmu to act against the concern authorities including doctor involved in harassing the poor patients in such a type of modus operandi. "It is high time for the authorities to think over such type of hindrances coming in way of implementation of Ayushman Bharat Scheme of the PM Modi," opined some elders in the town. |
