Rs crores 346.82 disbursed to 10317 beneficiaries in Agriculture and Horticulture sector | | | Early Times Report
PULWAMA, Dec 6: District Development Commissioner Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer today convened District Level Review Committee meeting here today. During the meeting, detailed discussion was held on CD ratios of the banks, identification of beneficiaries, flow of credit, assistance under Government sponsored schemes, performances of banks under District Credit Plan (DCP), achievements, monitoring initiatives and Credit Plus activities. Giving details about the performance of Banks, District lead bank Manager informed the meeting that total credit provided by the financial institutions operating in the district ending quarter September 2019 is Rs 2763.38 out of which Rs 1933.23 crores and Rs 830.15 crores have been provided under priority and non priority sectors respectively. He said that the total deposits mobilized by the banks in the district has been recorded Rs 3072.41 crores by ending Sep. It was given out that under Agriculture And Horticulture sectors banks have disbursed an amount of RS 346.82 crore to 10317 beneficiaries and under crop loan scheme Rs 269.39 crores have been disbursed to 9216 farmers and fruit growers. Under Medium Small and Micro Enterprises sector, banks have provided Rs 127.56 crores to 2362 beneficiaries .Whereas in education sector Rs 1.65 crores were disbursed in favor of 145 beneficiaries. Regarding progress of KCC scheme, it was informed that 47442 cases were taken up while the 37908 cases were disbursed upto the September 2019. The DDC asked the bankers to put efforts to increase the CD ratio by focusing on potential areas and stressed on better coordination between banks and government departments for bringing improvement in CD ratio. He directed for ensuring balanced lending in all key sectors to promote equitable growth. The DDC emphasized upon the heads of the financial institutions to spread awareness with regard to the welfare schemes sponsored by them among masses so that people can avail benefit for their socio-economic development. The DDC highlighted the role of agriculture and horticulture sectors in creating self reliant and sustainable employment in the district. He further added that a coordinated effort between the financial institutions and sponsoring agencies may pave way for ease of doing business. Dr Langar emphasized on the priority sector lending with a special focus on education, women development and agriculture and allied sectors .He directed concerned officials to organise financial literacy camps in every block of the district and asked the bankers and concerned officers to adopt public friendly approach and work in coordination for desired results at the grass root level. The meeting was attended by LDM, Cluster Head JK Bank, NABARD, representatives of various banks, District Coordinators, District Heads of various Government Departments and sponsoring agencies. |
