Srinagar, Dec 7 : The national highway, the only road connecting Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh with Kashmir valley and 86-km-long historic Mughal road, remained closed on Saturday due to slippery road conditions though snow clearance operations had been completed.
Meanwhile, Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the only road linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, was through for traffic on Saturday.
Snow clearance operation has almost been completed on the highway between Sonamarg, Zojila, Captain Mode. However, due to minus 15 degree to 20 degree temperature, particularly during the night, the road has become slippery which could result in accidents.
