Master Athletes Meet-2019 concludes

Jammu, Dec 9: The Master Athletes Meet-2019 which was organised at Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu by the J&K Master Athletics Association of J&K in collaboration with District Administration and District Police Jammu from December concluded.
The Meet witnessed exemplary performances by participating athletes across different age categories in various events, such as, 5 km run, 400 m run, 5 km walk, discus throw and shot put. In 5 km run, the top three positions in various age categories were bagged by the following: i. 35+ category: Mangat Singh, Pritam Kumar and Dilawar Khan. ii. 40+ category: Rayaz Ahmed, Makhan Lal and Vicky Choudhary. iii. 45+ category: Ram Raj, Jagdish Singh and Vikram Saini. iv. 50+category: Jagdev Singh, Satvir Singh and Yousaf Ali. In the 400 m run, the top three positions in various age categories were bagged by the following: i. 35+ category: Tahir Mir, Sharat Sharma and Muddasir Nabi. ii. 40+ category: Rayaz Ahmed, Shafat-ul-Bashir and Vicky Choudhary. iii. 45+ category: Rakesh Kumar, Manminder Singh and Rashid Ahmed. iv. 50+category: Sandeep Singh, Satvir Singh v. 55+category: Ravinder Singh, Anil Padha and V.K. Dogra. vi. 65+ category: Joginder Singh was the winner. vii. 75+ category: A. K. Dutta, Brij Mohan Sharma and Inder Singh. In the 5 km walk, the top positions in various age categories were bagged by the following: i. 40+ category: Talvinder Singh, Vivek Gandotra and Sachin Gandotra. ii. 45+ category: Shashi Pal Singh, Jai Paul and Satish Kumar. iii. 50+ category: Amarjeet Singh, Rajinder Singh and Ajay Gandotra. iv. 55+ category: Ravinder Singh, Sanjay Saini and Anil Padha. v. 60+ category: Lal Chand Verma, V. B. Khullar and Swarn Singh. vi. 65+ category: Tarsem Lal and Rajinder. vii. 75+ category: Jaswant Singh and R K Sharma. viii. 80+ category: Romesh Badyal was the winner.
In the Discus Throw event, the top positions across various age categories were bagged by the following: i. 40+ category: Khander Singh, Davinder Singh and Titas Khonja. ii. 45+ category: Gurcharan Singh was the winner. iii. 50+ category: Daljeet Singh and Ghulam Nabi. iv. 55+ category: Gurmeet Singh, A.D.S. Manhas and Raj Singh. v. 60+ category: Bansi Lal and S.L. Dubey. vi. 65+ category: Joginder Singh and Harvinder Sharma. vii. 80+ category: I.P.S Bali was the winner. viii. 85+ category: Devi Dayal remained winner.
In the Shot Put event, the top positions were bagged by the following: i. 55+ category: Ravi Singh, A.D.S. Manhas and Gurmeet Singh. ii. 60+ category: S.L. Dubey, Bansi Lal and Swarn Singh. iii. 70+ category: Yog Raj Sharma emerged as the winner. iv. 75+ category: Rajinder Nath and Inder Singh. v. 80+ category: I.P.S Bali was the winner. vi. 85+ category: Devi Dayal emerged as the winner. Tejinder Singh, SSP Jammu remained the best Athlete during the meet. SSP Jammu presented the winners with prizes and medals. SP City South, Vinay Sharma, B.R. Sharma - Chairman, Master Athletes Association, Ravi Singh - Chairman, Sports Council and Seema Kharyal - Organising member were also present at the occasion.
