JAMMU, Dec 9: The token hunger strike of J&K High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA), Jammu entered its 4th day today while due to the ongoing agitation of advocates, the work in the courts remained affected for 36th consecutive day. The members of JKHCBA, Jammu are continuously agitating for fulfillment of their demands seeking restoration of powers of registration of documents back to the Judicial Officers. Those who sat on hunger strike on December 9 are Monish Chopra, Rajesh Choudhary, Nitin Gupta, Arvind Bandral, Amit Chopra, Surjeet Singh Andotra, Gagandeep Singh, Kamal Magotra, Atul Raina and Rakesh Sharma. In addition to aforesaid members, many senior members and office bearers of JKHCBAJ namely Rohit Bhagat, Vice President, Abhishek Wazir General Secretary, Pardeep Majotra Joint Secretary and Sushant Samnotra Treasurer were also present at the dharna site. The JKHCBAJ is prepared to continue its ongoing agitation till the genuine demands are fulfilled so that there should be no inconvenience to the public in general and Advocates in particulars. The JKHCBAJ also urged upon the government to fulfill the demand regarding withdrawal of the powers of registration from the Revenue Authorities and restoring the same to the Judicial Magistrates so that the system which was prevailing earlier shall continue. -JNF |
