Jammu, Dec 13: A four member delegation of Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) led by Gurdev Singh President alongwith Roshan Lal, Tarlok Singh Tara and Charanjit Lal called upon S. Simranjeet Singh Secy. DM&RRR UT of J&K and sought his attention through different memorandums towards the legitimate burning issues of DPs of 1947 from POK concerning their one time settlement. The delegation express their gratitude to Singh for his promptness for issuing an order for payment of Relief of Rs 5.5 lacs to all those DP families from POK who left state after migration and went to other states of India in search of food and shelter but later on they returned back and settled in J&K. He was also urged upon to initiate their case to Lt. Governor G.C. Murmu for adequate compensation for their left out properties, reservation for wards of DPs, defreezing of 8 assembly seats besides other issues as per the JPC report. Deliberating upon the issues concerning One time full and final settlement of DPs viz-a-viz adequate compensation for the leftout properties in POK, employment package/reservation for their wards in jobs and technical institutions, defreezing of assembly seats of their share, compensation for deficient allotted land as per the prevalent average market rates as per the quantum of deficiency, reimbursement of Rs 2500 deducted uniformly as cost of allotted land by the then state Govt. Mutation of land/plots under their dwelling in different DPs colonies, Gurdev Singh apprised him that JKSAC is struggling relentlessly since 1967 for the resolution of said legitimate issues and have represented at various forums of the state as well as centre Govts.
