Jammu, Dec 14: A delegation of J&K BJP Mahila Morcha with its State President Rajni Sethi called on the Mukesh Singh IGP Jammu to seek intervention in curbing the drug menace in Jammu and valley.
State President Mahila Morcha Rajni Sethi discussed various problems regarding trafficking of drugs in J&K with the IGP, Jammu. She said that in our country the use of "drugs" is increasing very rapidly and even the educational institutions have not been spared of this menace due to which our young over are using different drugs and get addicted due to which rape case and crime is a hike. She told the IGP Jammu that this problem is assuming alarming proportions as it is being now used by women folk also. IGP Jammu Mukesh Singh said that the J&K Police has already been made efforts to stops this menace and drug sellers. Rajni Sethi conveyed the IGP Jammu to organize awareness programs for the youth and given many more suggestions like to organize regional workshops (with NSS), use of print, electronic and social media for creating awareness, to organize exhibitions to sensitize the people about the ill effects of drug abuse and to give awards to encourage the individuals and the institutions that worked for the curb of this menace. IGP Jammu agreed with the suggestions given by the BJP J&K Mahila Morcha and assured that memorandum submitted by them is a very good step in curbing this menace.
