Batwal Association welcomes LG's statement on reservation | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association hailed the statement of Lieutenant Governor on reservation. According to press release a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Captain (Panch) Kamal Dass Kaith here, who welcomed the statement of Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu that the Government would come out with a new Reservation Policy in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Association members while speaking during the meeting urged the Lieutenant Governor to have an early order/notification issued to this effect so that the withheld backlog reserved quota in promotions for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes gets released and is filled up with the eligible employees of these communities so as to make them heave a big sigh of relief even though belatedly. The Association members also suggested and appealed that the percentage at the rate of which the reservation that was being given to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in direct recruitment and promotions in services before the abrogation of Article 370, be not curtailed and also 'a penalty clause' be inserted in the norms of the new reservation policy so as to ensure its full and timely implementation. The Association also hailed Modi Government's decision of extending quota to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies by another 10 years. |
