Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 14: Citizens' Forum has appealed to the Prime Minister Narender Modi to release Mehbooba Mufti and other former Chief Ministers of erstwhile state of J&K. In a press release issued here today, Citizens' forum president RK Chadha said that a condition of giving an assurance in writing from former elected Chief Ministers of this country is not expected from the Prime Minister of this great country. Chief Ministers, Governors and
even Prime Ministers sometimes unknowingly and in reaction commit some mistakes which are against the interests of the country but it does not mean they are anti-national. Mehbooba was neither anti-India nor corrupt politician, but sometimes actions and reactions change the person beyond imaginations, Chadha added. We do not contest what actions and reactions pursued in bringing disturbed conditions and bringing normalcy in J&K for the last 30 years till date. These are the leaders who influenced the state people and we hope they can bring peace if relationship is created on trust with them. While creating normalcy in the region we expect Prime Minister will bring peace of mind in the general people too, which at present is missing due to many other reasons.
Let common people of both the region interact with each other and with their leaders to bring peaceful atmosphere in the region. Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and so are its people, he said.
