2 children among infant die due to asphyxiation

RAJOURI, Dec 14: Two children including an infant were found dead probably due to asphyxiation in Kotranka area of district Rajouri.
The deaths believed to be caused due to suffocation as the wooden coal heater was kept in the room where the family was sleeping.
The incident happened last night when entire family slept in a room while keeping wooden coal in their room for heating purpose. Due to monoxide gas the family members including Khadam Hussain, his wife Shamim Akhtar, their 3 months old son and 14-year old niece Sobiya Kouser daughter of Mohd Azam fell unconscious
The baby boy, girl and husband-wife found to be unconscious this morning when brother of Khadam Hussain came to their room. He immediately informed his family and took them to hospital where baby boy and 14 year old girl declared brought dead by doctors while husband- wife were stated to be out of danger. They were later referred to Medical College Rajouri for further treatment.
