Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15: Guru Govind Singh Ji's Parkash Utsav to be celebrated on 2nd January 2020, announced District Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee Jammu in a Press Conference. While addressing the Press conference, S. Jagjit Singh, President, District Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee, Jammu alongwith other members of the Committee said that Guruji's Parkash Purab will be celebrated with gaiety and traditional fervor of the Khalsa panth on 2nd January, 2020 with participation of all sections of society in general and Sikhs in particular under the supervision of his Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangli Sahib, Poonch. S. Harjinder Singh Raina, senior most member and former Secretary of DGPC, Jammu further added that Nagar Kirtan prior to the Parkash Utsav will be organized on 30th December, 2019 on the traditional route starting from Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu. The Nagar Kirtan will start at 10.30 a.m. and shall follow the traditional route towards Bridge, Bikram Chowk, Asia Hotel crossing, Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar hospital route, Gole Market and shall culminate at Gurudwara Singh Sabha Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu via Shivaji Chowk at 4.00 p.m. While giving out the further details, Raina said that throughout the Nagar Kirtan, the participation of various school children, musical band, Parcharaks and religious lecturers on the life and sacrifices of Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji towards the humanity shall be organized. Raina also announced that the Nagar Kirtan as well as the Parkash Utsav of Guru Govind Singh Ji shall be organized under the guidance of his Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangli Sahib, Poonch. S. Kuldip Singh, Vice President, DGPC, Jammu, S. Darbinder Singh, Treasurer DGPC, Jammu, S. Raja Singh, S. Mohinder Singh, Joint Secretary, DGPC Jammu S. Fateh Singh Secretary, DGPC and S. Ramneek Singh and others also participated in the press conference and they issued a joint appeal to all the sections of society, all social and religious organizations and NGOs to extend their wholehearted support to these functions as has been the practice in the past. |
