CF demands funds for Chopra Nursing Home | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 26: Citizen's Forum appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lt. Governor G C Murmu to provide fund of Rs. 40 crores for renovating and functioning of the Chopra Nursing Home already existing and was functioning satisfactorily in Jammu GMC premises and for providing free medicines to the poor patients admitted in the GMC and its hospitals in Jammu UT. R K Chadha President of Citizen's Forum said that while discussing the above issues with a very high ranking officer of the health department of the government, was informed that government does not have funds to initiate these two programs which require about Rs. 15 crores Opening of Chopra Nursing Home and Rs. 25 crores for providing free medicines in Jammu UT hospitals. It is very important for a patient who can afford to pay can get medical facilities in day time, which otherwise have to stand in queue along with other general patients in GMC. Private Practice by doctors in the evening only, is absolutely inconvenient and bothersome. A paid OPD can be started in Chopra Nursing Home. Chadha further request The Lt. Governor to bring a change in the top administration of GMC as its Staff is Hand in Glove with private MRI and CT Scan Centers despite availability of in-house of diagnostic facilities. The referral trend has already burdened patients, who find themselves pushed to wall after being referred for undergoing crucial tests in private. |
