Jammu, Dec 26: Special Judge CBI Jammu Rajesh Sekri framed charges against Pankaj Pathania, Postal Assistant at Udhampur and Nasreen Shama then Postal Assistant while working at Head Post Office, Udhampur for conspiring together to cheat Department of Posts and in pursuance of this conspiracy did misappropriation of the amount of PPF receipts in 129 PPF accounts at Head Post Office Udhampur.
Court observed that prima facie, it has been established that accused and co-accused Pankaj Pathania from 28.01.2017 to 31.03.2018 while working as Public Servants conspired together to dishonestly cheat Department of Posts and in pursuance of this conspiracy did misappropriation of the amount of PPF receipts in 129 PPF accounts at Head Post Office Udhampur and thereby, caused wrongful loss to the tune of Rs. 52,31,300 to the Department of Posts and wrongful gain/ pecuniary advantage and have committed offences punishable under sections 120-B, 420,409, 477-A, 201 of RPC and Sec. 5(2) r/w 5(1) (c) of J&K PC Act, Samvat 2006 and Sections 66, 66-C and 66 D of the Information Technology Act 2000, which are within the cognizance of this Court, and hereby direct that you be tried for the above said charges in this Court. -JNF |
