Two Pakistan soldiers killed in retaliatory fire by Indian troops in Uri sector | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 26 Two Pakistani troops were killed in retaliatory fire by Indian troops at Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, official sources said on Thursday. They further said Pakistan troops violated ceasefire and resorted to indiscrminate and unprovoked shelling and firing from across the LoC in Uri sector, targetting forward posts and civilian areas in Churandah and Silikote and other border villages on Wednesday evening. Indian troops also retalaited and the exchange of fire continued for several hours. 'We lost a soldier and a woman was critically wounded in the shelling and firing', they stated. Meanwhile, over a dozen families from different border areas were shifted and put up in educational institutions in Uri. According to them, Pakistan troops were frequently violating ceasefire to provide a cover to militants to sneak into this side. There were large number of trained militants waiting in launch pads at LoC to infiltrate into this side. However, Indian troops remained on high alert to foil any such attempt despite below freezing temperature and other odds. Recently, five Kashmiri teenagers from south Kashmir were arrested from a hotel in border town of Uri in north Kashmir when they were planning to cross over to POK for receiving arms training. The teenagers were later handed over to their parents after their proper counselling by police. |
