Dooru residents protest against Revenue Department | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report
Anantnag, Jan 16: A group of people on Thursday held strong protest against the Revenue Department employees and officials in Dooru area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Protesters alleged that the employees of the Tehsil Office Dooru were remaining absent frequently thus causing inconvenience to them. “Our wards have to submit scholarship forms for that they need income certificates but employees don’t attend duties because of which we are facing problems,” protesters alleged. They claimed that some of the employees deputed at Tehsil Office Dooru were demanding money for processing their cases. Residents raised high pitched slogans against the Revenue Department officials and demanded action against those employees who according to them are habitual of remaining absent. “Post abrogation of Article 370, Absenteeism has encouraged. Employees at tehsil level offices often remain absent and don’t attend duties with punctuality,” Mushatq Ahmad, a resident told Early Times. Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Syed Yasir assured that he will look into this issue and initiate action against the employees if found guilty. |
