Jammu, Jan 16: Apprehending unrest after the killing of a Hizbul Mujaheedin militant, the administration on Thursday imposed section 144 in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. “We were apprehending unrest after Wednesday’s encounter in which one HM terrorist was killed, so section 144 was imposed as a precautionary measure,” Deputy Commissioner Sagar Doifode here told news agency. “We will be assessing the situation, which as of now is peaceful and then take a decision whether to lift Sec 144 accordingly,” he further said. The police and Army had in a joint operation on Wednesday neutralised HM militant Hamad Haroon in Gundana area of Doda district. |
