Union Minister Piyush Goyal was in Jammu as a part of week-long public outreach programme initiated by the Centre to apprise people of the potential benefits of the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status after nullification of Article 370 of the Constitution.

“However, I was astonished to see that before the governor rule that was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir on June 18, 2018, only 7 projects were completed, work was going on 22 projects, 10 projects were going on snail pace, 6 were on DPR stage and work on 9 projects was not even started”, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said.
He added that after passing 18 months, in the month of December 2019, the situation changed first by governor rule than after becoming Union Territory, the situation completely changed. As of now, 14 projects stands completed, work on 35 projects is going on, instead of 10 projects earlier now only on three projects work is going on snail pace and that will be put on fast track completion. “Not only that now only 4 projects are on DPR stage and there is only project where work is yet to start. It means out of 54, projects stands working and complete on 53 projects and by March 2021, 25 projects will be completed under the investment of 25,000 crore”, Goyal said.
He added that I am happy to share that electricity has reached in every corner of Jammu and Kashmir through Saubhagya Yojna.
