Jammu, Jan 21: Two people were arrested and 300 kg poppy straw was seized on the city outskirts on Tuesday. The dog squad of Jammu Police helped in arresting the peddlers. “The dog squad, during regular search operation, helped the police arrest two drug smugglers with 300-kg poppy straw,” Two Punjab based drug peddlers were arrested on the spot, he added. With the help of the dogs-- “Raja” and “Kali”-- the police intercepted a truck at Nagrota on city outskirts. “The frisking team recovered the contraband and arrested the accused,”police official said, adding that a case has been registered and investigation started. Earlier, Jammu police recovered haul of heroin, charas in different incidents across the district. |
