Victim meets SSP, seeks registration of case against erring cops | Alleged custodial torture at Gangyal Police Station | |

JAMMU, Jan 21: The victim of alleged custodial torture at Gangyal Police Station today submitted a written complaint to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, and sought registration of a case against the erring cops, who assaulted him in Police Station on the night of January 19. “As a first step to seek justice for Rohit Singh, we have submitted formal our complaint to SSP Jammu today”, said family members of the victim, who faced the wrath of Gangyal Police. “Meanwhile, we have also consulted our counsel to explore legal remedy through the court of law”, they said, adding that if Police department delays registering the case, we will approach the court to give directions to Police for registering the case”, the family members said. “If needed an agitation will also be launched to prevent such merciless actions of police in the future with others as well”, they added. It is pertinent to mention here that on January 19, a youth faced the wrath of Police at Gangyal Police Station. The cops allegedly kept beating the youth mercilessly until he fell unconscious.
