J&K Housing Board organises awareness programme under ANGIKAAR campaign

JAMMU JANUARY 26: The J&K Housing Board, State Nodal Agency, for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Housing for All (Urban) Mission today organised an awareness programme under the ANGIKAAR campaign as part of the 71st Republic Day Celebrations for the beneficiaries of the Housing for all Scheme .

Managing Director, J&K Housing Board Arvind Kotwal and Corporator, Ward No 51 Jammu Municipal Corporation, Raj Kumar were chief guest on the occasion.

Managing Director highlighted the purpose of ANGIKAAR and said that the campaign envisages promotion and awareness generation among the beneficiaries of PMAY urban mission with respect to conservation of environment by planting trees, desisting from single use of plastic, use of energy efficient lights (LED), Segregation of Waste - wet waste in green bin & dry waste in blue bin, to keep environment clean for healthy living. The campaign also aims to bring the beneficiaries under the fold of other Central Schemes such as use of LPG - its clean cooking fuel under Ujjwala and avail benefit of Ayushman Bharat Scheme and achieve the objective for engaging communities for a healthier and happier living by working towards social and environmental goals.

The pledge was also administered to the beneficiaries regarding the ANGIKAAR campaign to achieve the convergence and embracing the change to promote a peaceful, harmonious and cohesive living amongst communities to sustain natural habitat.

During the programme Managing Director and Corporator handed over the symbolic keys to the beneficiaries who have completed their houses under PMAY Urban Mission and also distributed plants among the beneficiaries.

Later, Managing Director along with the concerned officers also inspected few under construction houses of beneficiaries and planted trees there.

Among others the programme was attended by Madan Lal, Director Finance, Avleen Kaur, Collector, Yogesh Sharma, Sr. Programmer, Firduos Ah. Qazi and Rajesh Kumar, Deputy General Manager, Pooja Wazir, AEE, Shivangi Gupta AEE, Kapil Ghai, Raashid Moughal, Sahil Dabgotra and Deepak Kumar experts PMAY (U) Mission besides large number of beneficiaries.
