Central team assesses progress on NFSM projects

KATHUA, Feb 13:- A central team headed by Technical Officer, Vikas Belwal, today took on the spot assessment of various developmental schemes under National Food Security Mission, here. They visited various projects taken under NFSM and also inspected the wheat sown areas infested with yellow rust. They toured Barmora, Saidpur, Jogian, Mirpur Ram, Rajbagh, Chhann Arorian, Hiranagar and other villages of Dayala Chack Sub Division and had detailed interaction with the farmers of the area.
The Technical Officer from central team appreciated the steps taken by the Agriculture Department for controlling the yellow rust. The farmers were also satisfied by the departmental activities and control measures adopted for the control of Yellow rust. District Agriculture Officer (Ext.), Sanjeev Rai Gupta apprised the central team about the various steps taken by the department under NFSM and the central team was fully satisfied about the ongoing projects of the department. PPO, Devinder Sharma had a detailed interaction with the farmers about the various control measures to be taken for the control of Yellow rust.
SDAO Dayala Chack, Manohar Lal Sharma, told the central team that the department is fully committed for the welfare of the farming community and a special team of the sub division has been comprised for the assessment and control of yellow rust.
