| Court rejects bail in gang rape case | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 18: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi Kamlesh Pandit rejected the bail application of Prem Singh who was allegedly involved in Gang Rape case.
Court after hearing both the sides observed that the allegations against the accused person are very serious that too a gang rape and the other person allegedly involved has not been traced and there is every apprehension that in case of bail, the accused person would involve in tampering with the prosecution evidence as the accused/applicant herein and the complainant are fighting with each other by way of cross/counter cases. Also, it is not out of place to refer Section 497-C CrPC which bars bail in such offences as the accused person is charged with unless court is of the opinion that the accusations against the accused are not prima facie true. Therefore, without commenting on the merits of the case the bail of the accused/applicant herein is out rightly rejected and shall be made part of the main challan. JNF
