Jammu, Feb 21: A programme was organised at Govt. College of Education, Jammu on the occasion of International Mother tongue day to promote the local regional languages of Jammu and Kashmir. A cultural event including Singing, Poetry, etc was organised in Dogri and Kashmiri to promote the dissemination and use of mother tongue. The programme was graced by Principal GCOE, Dr. Sangita Nagari. She addressed the students proudly about the importance of the mother tongue and values and skills that we acquire from our mother tongue. She highlighted that to ensure that our mother tongue is preserved it is our responsibility to promote our language from grass root levels , i.e. ,our homes and to conversate in it more frequently. Participants from Faculty Development Programme (FDP) also shared their views on this occasion. Dr. Manoj Bhatt, Prof. Ramzan Ali, Prof. Rubina Yasmeen , Dr. Shubhra Jamwal , Dr. Prabhjot Kour and Prof. Seema Kumari were also present on the occasion. Programme was conducted by Ravinder Kumar. |
