JMC Commissioner takes stock of sanitation scenario

Jammu, Mar 2: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Avny Lavasa took stock of sanitation scenario in Ward No. 1 (Panjtirthi), Ward No. 24 and Ward No. 25 (Rehari) alongwith sanitation staff. During the tour, the Commissioner checked the attendance of Safaikaramcharies deployed in these wards during the morning shift commencing from 6:00 A.M. and directed the late comers to come in their areas of jurisdiction well in time so that proper sanitation can be provided/maintained and added that non-seriousness in respect of providing civic amenities to residents of city shall not be tolerated in any manner. She also took stock of Panjtirthi parking site. The Commissioner while touring stressed for improving sanitation scenario in the city, for which any kind of support/infrastructure required by the field staff shall be provided by the authorities and directed officers concerned to interact with the field staff so that it can be known what kind of support they want to have for improving overall sanitation situation which is a basic facility provided by Jammu Municipal Corporation. She further directed the Sanitation Officers to ensure 100% attendance of Safaikaramcharies in each ward of the Corporation. The Commissioner further appealed the general public to extend their helping hands to Jammu Municipal Corporation for maintaining proper sanitation, without citizens’ support it is hard to achieve the desired results and also appealed to put their waste in dustbins installed for the purpose.
